The event took place on 25Dec11 at Times Square and it was the official opening of FES Retro outlet at Times Square. Their recent location has spurred more traffic than their previous outlet at Berakas. The relocation paid off and now FES Retro is drawing more crowd than before and they have expanded their items and not only limiting to Manchester United and Liverpool merchandise.

The official opening was graced by Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila DiRaja Dato Paduka Hazair Hj Abdullah, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present was the Managing Director of FES Retro, Effendi Hj Said and Director of FES Retro, Habry bin Hj Abdullah.

Two 1/2 years ago, fes retro was first start up with a small store in Jalan Pasir Berakas (near London Kebab) aka 'The Red Shop' which is very popular amongst the Liverpool and Manchester United fans & supporters locally and outside Brunei. Due to great demand....hehe ;), fes retro is relocating the store to our brand new shop at Times Square on 7th October 2011 'Soft Opening' with a new look & design. Thus far, we have a very good respond from the public especially football lovers & die hard fans. The Liverpool FC Asia Tour 2011 was such a big event in Kuala Lumpur as it also marked Liverpool FC's first presence in Malaysia. The main event is friendly football match with Malaysia National Team which drew about 85,000 fans & supporters at Bukit Jalil Stadium and the atmosphere was really fantastic and great experience. Manchester United 2011/12 Away Kit

This season Manchester United will play in a striking blue and black away kit, inspired by the blue kits worn in several of their most famous victories, including the 1948 FA Cup final and the 1968 European Cup final.

The new away shirt consists of a royal blue body and sleeves with hoops made of small midnight navy blue and black stripes. There are exactly eleven stripes in each hoop to represent each member of the United team. The pattern of the shirt is modelled on a previous United away shirt, which consisted of red and white hoops and was worn for seven seasons between 1932 and 1939. It was also briefly adopted as their home shirt for the last two months of the 1933-34 season.

On the back of the shirt below the neck is a small devil from the club crest, while inside the neck reads ‘Manchester United.

For the first time the club crest on the front of the shirt is heat transferred, making it even lighter and crucially allowing this area to now be ventilated as well but that is only for player edition kit.

History of this shirt - Of Liverpool's signings in the summer of 2000, Gerard Houllier's first in sole charge of team affairs, Gary McAllister was perhaps the best-known to English football fans. Yet his move to Anfield ranks as one of the most unexpected in Premiership history. McAllister made possibly the biggest move of his career, to wear the red of Liverpool. The doubters were many, but they were quickly won over by the part the man affectionately known on the Kop as 'Gary Mac' played in the side's headlong rush towards the three trophies that were to make 2000-2001 a season to live long in the memory of Liverpool fans. McAllister's performances in midfield were a crucial factor in Liverpool's successes that season.

The first part of the treble came with success over Birmingham City in the Worthington Cup final, Gary appearing as a sub for Gerrard and slotting home the first penalty of the shoot-out to put Liverpool on the way to a 5-4 victory. The FA Cup was then won - albeit rather fortuitously - with a 2-1 win against Arsenal thanks to two late Michael Owen goals, Gary coming on as sub for Didi Hamann, and McAllister then played a key role in the UEFA Cup final, scoring a penalty and creating three of Liverpool's other goals that night in Dortmund as the Reds beat Spanish side Alaves in a 5-4 thriller.

Arsenal 125th Anniversary Away kit 2011/12

The Arsenal away shirt for the 2011-12 season, which is navy and turquoise blue in colour, features a bespoke crest that marks the club’s 125th anniversary year – and looks forward to the club’s next chapter as the most environmentally-friendly kit Nike has ever produced.

The front of the new away shirt is divided into two halves, one in navy blue and one in turquoise blue, inspired by the away kits worn by Arsenal teams from the past. The diagonal line represents the gnomon, the pointer which casts the shadow on a sundial, inspired by the original Dial Square sundial on the site of the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, where the Club was first conceived in 1886.

Founded in Woolwich in 1886 and called The Royal Arsenal, the celebratory crest design combines the graphic of 15 laurel leaves to represent each of founding fathers and 15 oak leaves to mark the location of its foundation in a bold white print and carries the anniversary dates of 1886 and 2011 on the heart of the shirt. Underneath the celebratory crest sits the word ‘FORWARD’ as a tribute to the club’s first motto.

The back of the shirt is entirely navy blue, while one sleeve is navy blue and the other turquoise blue, with a stripe in three parts on each to once more represent the Dial Square sundial. On the back of the shirt below the neck reads ‘’Arsenal’, while inside the front, on the back of the crest, is a graphic that reads ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, (‘Victory Through Harmony’), Arsenal’s Latin motto, which was previously featured on earlier versions of their club crest between 1949 and 2002. Liverpool Football Club and adidas today unveiled the new third kit for the 2011/12 football season.

Inspiration

The new Liverpool FC third kit takes its design inspiration from the classic tracksuit tops worn by the infamous LFC teams of the mid 1980’s, incorporating the diagonal stripe across the front of the shirt.

The Shirt & Design

Drawing from history and tradition, the new kit showcases a stylish modern twist. The inclusion of cyan blue in the shirt design dates back to Liverpool’s first home kit worn almost 120 years ago which incorporated alternate white and blue halves – it wasn’t until Bill Shankly became manager that the home kit became completely red, in 1964.

The cyan blue is used throughout the kit and incorporated into the design through the iconic adidas three stripes across the shoulders and the shirt sponsor. The shirts main design features diagonal stripes in black and cyan blue over the right shoulder and continuing around the trim of the sleeve to create a modern, stylish look whilst giving a nostalgic nod to the club’s illustrious past.

A closer look at the shirt reveals further subtle design features including a diagonal, tonal emboss running through the fabric.

Liverpool FC is delighted to announce the Club will be travelling to Asia this summer for a pre-season tour sponsored by Standard Chartered that will include games in China, Malaysia and Korea.

The Reds enjoy fantastic support in Asia and this summer's visit follows the hugely successful 10-day pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore in 2009.

The team will take on opposition in Guangzhou, play a game in Kuala Lumpur, and then move to Seoul for the final fixture of the three-match tour in July.

"Whenever we go to Asia, the fans are always amazing," said Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard. "The supporters over there are fanatical about Liverpool and it's great that we can give so many of them a chance to come and watch the team play."

Nike have unveiled Manchester United’s new home kit inspired by the traditional red, white and black club colours infused with a distinctive pattern iconic in club history.

Telbru Panna KO on 6-8Mar11

AFTER the success of the first Panna KO challenge previously held in conjunction with TelBru & B-Mobile EPL Football Masters Club in March of this year, the fast paced exciting competition returned with mass participation from previous competitors and new ones to boot.

This time around the challenge was held as part of Telekom Brunei Berhad's (TelBru) 5th year anniversary celebration.

The first length of the Panna KO Challenge began on May 6, 2011 with the finals held on May 8, both at the Mall, Gadong. Nearly 150 participants registered online for the challenge.

Panna KO is a street soccer football game where one player goes against another player, in which the players must score the first "panna" or commonly know as "ole" and Bruneians call "lasut" in order to win the game despite getting the highest score of goals.

Competing were four teams: The Liverpool Masters, Manchester United Masters, EPL Masters and Brunei DPMM Masters. Some of the players included English Premier League Football legends – among them Steve McManaman, Robbie Fowler, Andy Cole, Patrik Berger, Ronnie Johnsen, Vladimir Smicer & many more.

The EPL All Star Masters narrowly beat the Manchester United Masters 4-3 in the final. Liverpool Masters came in third, while Brunei DPMM Masters were in fourth place.

HSBC Cycling challenges in the past years have raised more than B$190,000 which went towards Environmental and Humanitarian causes.

This year, HSBC added walkathon and fun run to our cycling event as part of their efforts to include the wider Bruneian community.

This year's event which going to held on 22May11 is to help to raise funds for Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, KACA and SMARTER Brunei in their work with special needs children.

100% of the registration fees and all donations collected will go towards these instituitions. As non-profit non-government organisations, these institutions rely heavily on public donations to sustain its operations and aspirations.

The Shirt & Design

The new Liverpool Football Club Away kit for the 2011/12 season takes its design inspiration from metallic elements. Solid grey in colour, the shirt is finished with metallic silver detailing on the iconic adidas 3 stripes across the shoulders, both sponsors logo’s and the laser cut woven crest. These elements combined create a modern, stylish and distinctive look.

A closer look at the shirt reveals further subtle design features. A vertical single stitch silver pinstripe is engineered through the shirt fabric and an intricate modern v-neck design that integrates red piping detail. This particular design detail also features on the front of the jersey and shorts.

The third shirt Manchester United used for two seasons, starting from 1992, was an altered yellow and green half and half design. The whole left side has a green base, whereas the right part of the body of the shirt is yellow, and the right sleeve is green. The club badge is inside a black sheild, meaning it stands out a lot more on the green background

The kit was manufactured by Umbro, and sponsored by Sharp, with the sponsor placed quite high on the shirt. There are faint “M””s covering the whole of the shirt, as well. The collar, keeping to the theme, is also very original. Underneath the green collar with black trim, the collar can be tightened by two black cords, adding to the snippets of black, giving a new dimension to the shirt. In 1878 the team started life as Newton Heath L&YR F.C, by 1902, the club neared bankruptcy, but the owner of Manchester Breweries stepped in with a sizeable investment to save the club. A new name was wanted to reflect the clubs fresh start, Manchester Celtic and Manchester Central were suggested before Manchester United was picked. The club also decided it was an appropriate time to change their colours, going from Newton Heath’s yellow and green to the red and white we know today.
